Nglambor beach Indonesia travelogue

Rajitha Herath

One fine Sunday I packed up my bags to witness another travel experience in my life which is to the largest Island country in the world! INDONESIA!

What a lovely country, kind people with great hospitality. Actually, My itinerary was planned for 1 week. But I had to extend it for another week as I couldn't leave this beautiful island country that early.

Okay so the journey begins. :) I took the flight from Sri Lanka to Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Jakarta. Then, I got another domestic flight to the special region of Yogyakarta. After landing there first thing I did was to find a place to have my lunch, I badly wanted to try Indonesian cuisine. :) So I had this famous Indonesian food called "Naasi-Goreng" at a small restaurant in Yogyakarta city. It costs around 15000 IDR (nearly 1.5 USD). So after having my lunch I went to my hotel room to get some rest. You can find cheap hotel rooms starting from around 25 USD onwards per night.

When you talk about Indonesia, it's not all about "Bali". There are many more amazing beautiful places to visit. Specially Beaches like Kuta, Parangtritis, Lovina beach, gili Islands, Karimunjava, Raja ampat and Nglambor beach are some of them.

So today I'm going to share my travel story to "Nglambor beach" with you. I choosed this beach because this is one of the most famous beaches in Indonesia and the only beach in Yogyakarta city for snorkeling.

Nglambor beach is a beautiful creation of nature which is located in a village named "Purwosari" in the special region of Indonesia, Yogyakarta or "Jogja" as locals are used to say. We reached there by a Mini Car. There are plenty of places to hire these vehicles. I used an app called "GoJek" to book a car.

Do you love snorkeling? So, this is the best place for that. The one and only beach that you can find in Yogyakarta for snorkeling is none other than this. Water is so clear and blue. Dazzling waves... Adorable aquatic eco-system, Amazing sunset picture. Such a marvelous view.

If you stay in this beach in an evening , you gonna experience one of the best sunsets in the world. I guess that's why most of the tourists as well as the locals never gonna miss this beach in their itineraries.
