Mumbai trip was a refreshing one since we were planning for it from long. Planning and plotting was done 2 months back during our family trip to Ayodhya (Lord Ram birth place). We decided to go by flight as there was leave shortage which is usual for every IT sector people :-). Idigo flights were booked for Lucknow-Mumbai.

ne thing very unusual for our every family trip is RAIN. It always rains whenever we need to start our journey. So much so that we now take it as our lucky charm, that God has blessed us and trip will be full of masti.

Itinerary:

Day 1 - Lko-Mum, Gateway of India, Taj Hotel, Girgaon Chowpatty, Marine Drive

Day 2 - Marine Drive, Elephanta Caves, Colaba MArket, Bade Miya Eatery

Day 3 - Mahalakshmi Temple, Haji Ali, Shree Siddhivinayak Temple, Khao Gali behind Churchgate

Day 4 - Iskon temple, Juhu Beach, Bandra (Celebrity's residence), Fashion street.

Day 5 - Return Mum-Lko

Though Lucknow was having cold weather but it was bright sunny day all through the flight and in Mumbai as well.

Feeling of visiting Mumbai was overwhelming and we took Taxi to reach our Guest house which was jewel of our trip. Somehow I managed to get us my friends's apartment at Marine Drive and family was totally bowled over by its location and beautiful surroundings. It was also opposite to church gate railway station as well. Well all family got seats in the cab, my son Saurabh was the only one left with no space in Taxi. So he decided to take Mumbai's famous Local Train. He infact reached before us.

En-route, our cab driver showed us the most expensive home in the world ANTILLA, which is owned by India's richest person Mukesh Ambani.

We took some rest at the guest house. It was actually a 2BHK flat with working kitchen. We were too happy to see it. Since we already had lot of homemade food during flight and enroute airport to guest house we decided to hit the road. We started by exploring guest house surrounding. On the right was Churchgate and on left was famous Marine drive. Also there were ample food eateries around to feast our taste buds.

Mumbai is also famous for a large network of hotels, restaurants & very good transportation facilities. It makes life of tourists easy in Mumbai. We took popular public taxi (Yellow & Black) for Gateway of India (GOI) and reached there within 20 mins. fare was ~25.

Gateway Of India:- GOI is a monument build to commemorate the visit of King George V and Queen Marry to Mumbai in Dec 1911. The architect of this heritage building is just awesome. It attracts huge crowd 24/7 whole year, also owing to the beautiful sea side and Taj Hotel in the backdrop. Taj hotel is one of the oldest hotel of India and a icon tourist point.

We strolled around GOI and Taj hotel for couple of hours and enjoyed the lively environment there.
