My New Zealand trip was most memorable of my life. During my one week trip, I witnessed series of breathtaking views and had lots of adventures. Among those many journeys, there was a Milford Sound cruise tour which I miss the most. Milford Sound is the most beautiful place in New Zealand which is ranked in top best places in the world. Here is my travelogue which I want to share with you all.
It was a beautiful rainy day in Queenstown. As this was my first every cruise trip, I was very much looking forward to it. We woke up early in the morning, got dressed up in warm clothes and headed off to catch our tour bus. The bus was very comfortable and had tourists from all over the world. My excitement increased when I noticed that the bus had glass roof through which I could see the beautiful mighty mountains of New Zealand.
We started heading towards our journey through the Queenstown roads. Fog, rain and spectacular views; it was like a dream I didn't want to wake up from.
After driving for few kilometers, our bus stopped at a beautiful area of Te Anau. There we had delicious breakfast and took some photos. I was clicking every second, as each view was too beautiful to miss. Then we headed off to The Fiordland National Park and our first stop was Eglinton Valley. The area was covered with green fields surrounded by huge mountains which we could hardly see because of fog and rain. There was a clear lake nearby, where we sat for few minutes and took hundreds of photos. That place was so peaceful that I wanted to sit there for hours but unfortunately, we had to move on. I was surprised by the natural beauty of each and every place we were crossing by.
Our bus made its way through the famous Homer Tunnel. We waited for few minutes outside as a safety measure before entering the tunnel. Then we headed to the beautiful Cleddau Valley in Fiordland National Park. Cleddau Valley features the Cleddau River and number of stunning waterfalls.
We stopped there for about half an hour, went into the rainforest, walked through the bridges and took pictures of the river and striking rock formations. Finally, after around 5 hours of beautiful journey, we arrived at Milford Sound and jumped into a huge cruise. The cruise started and light food was served to us for free as a part of our tour package.
After eating, I went out and was astonished to see the most spectacular natural views. There was a series of beautiful waterfalls, huge rock cliffs and the famous Mitre Peak in the surrounding.
The cruise ship took us further through the river and we reached the end connecting with Tasmania in Australia. The rain didn't stop for a while and it made the weather look very dreamy. A lot of little seals were also spotted nearby a cliff.
During the 1 hour and 45 minutes on the cruise, I couldn't sit inside despite the extremely cold weather. Standing outside while coffee in one hand and camera in other, it was such a beautiful moment which I can't describe in words.
The mountains were covered with fog and snow; making them look breathtakingly beautiful. On our way back, our cruise took us closer to one of the waterfalls which made me little wet but it was such an exciting thing to do.
We finally headed back as it was getting darker because of chill weather.
We got into our buses and on the way back we stopped again at Te Anau to eat and take photos of Te Anau Lake.
Around 7 pm at night, we arrived in Queenstown and got back to our hotel to prepare ourselves for the next day adventure.
This was my amazing travel story to this spectacular place. Hope you enjoy it. Have a nice trip and travel. :)
