As I said in my previous post, New Zealand is the most amazing place I have visited so far. It has been more than a year since I went there, but I still remember each and every moment of my wonderful trip. Today I’m going to share my travelogue at Skyline Queenstown.

It was my first day in Queenstown. I woke up in excitement as we were going to visit Skyline and enjoy rides on the top of Queenstown. We got ready and left our resort while making our way to Skyline on foot. We stopped at McDonalds for coffee and headed forward. After walking for good 15 to 20 minutes, we reached our destination.

There was a large crowd waiting to get the tickets for Skyline gondola and luge rides. There were also many combo deals for tourists, so they could enjoy to the fullest. We selected a combo which included skyline gondola, chairlift, one luge ride and buffet lunch at Stratosfare restaurant.

After waiting for few minutes, we got into the cable car. It started taking us towards the top and the views on the way were breathtakingly beautiful.

We reached the top where we walked around and took pictures of spectacular views in surroundings.

We finally made our way to chairlift which took us further up for luge rides. On the way, there were cameras fitted in the poles which took our pictures to be collected later. Upon reaching, the staff guided us to wear helmet and wait in the queue until our turn comes.

I and my sister were finally going to start our ride. The staff put us on the easiest track as this was the first time we were experiencing this. We started our luge and followed the track.

On one side there were mountains and lake which was scary yet exciting at the same time. Anyway, I followed the instructions and reached the end. My little luge stopped twice on the way but I managed to make it till the end. It was the most thrilling experience ever.

It was the lunch time now, so we went back on the chairlift to the restaurant. The Stratosfare restaurant is situated on the top of Queenstown where visitors enjoy a wide variety of food with the breathtaking view outside.

We had light lunch there and ate delicious dessert afterward. Our combo deal was over, but we wanted to take luge rides a few more times. So we decided to buy more tickets and went up again.

Ride after ride, we had 4 more rounds. This time, the Luge staff allowed us to go on the difficult track which had more turns. My luge stopped for many times as I was also holding my DSLR in my lap hehe. One time, I couldn’t move forward at all, but a nice lady who was resting in the park ran towards me and helped me out.

After the rides, we came back on the chairlift and chose our best photos which were taken by the cameras installed everywhere. Then, we sat in our cable car and went back in the town.

I hope you enjoyed reading my travel story. Have a nice trip and travel. :)
